   Trading

The trading activity in Derivatives Market and ADECH, which is executed electronically (screen trading) directly from the members' premises, consists of one of the two basic activities of any exchange. A network of trader stations connects the traders to the exchange. Working with trader stations has been extremely facilitated as communication between the user and the market only requires the trader to click in the windows. Members have also access to standard analyzing tools via their trader stations. Furthermore, the screens visualize important real-time market data such as prevailing market prices on the stock exchange.

Once new members have been defined as a market-maker or a non market-maker, then we can proceed by setting up and assigning to the members with their specific authorized log-in codes to the Click Application.

The hours of trading at the Derivatives Market of the Athens Exchange S.A. for all products are from 10:45 to 16:15. Provisions are in place to allow for extension of trading hours. Also, as different contracts are released then hours of trading will be announced.

Information technology support

The System Development and Support House (ASYK) is supporting Derivatives Market and ADECHs’ information technology needs, so that economies of scale and costs reductions are achieved. Already, ASYK has met both organizations equipment (software and hardware) needs for the provision of data base services and telephony and will keep doing so in the future.

Trading Supervision and Support

The trading supervision and support departments serve the purpose of maintaining regular and fair conditions in the derivatives market. Among the tasks these departments perform are the monitoring of the market to ensure that no prohibited practices are carried out, etermining the fixing prices and assisting members that face technical or other problems which prevent them from participating in trading.
